Daily Foundation Routine

 

 

"Foundation" time for me is super quick. I hardly ever use liquid foundation anymore because my face will look greasy within 5 hours, blehhh. I've been doing this routine for the past year and found that it works best for my skin. So here are the steps!!

Step 1: Clean and moisturize face
Step 2: Wait for moisturizer to seep into skin (2-3min)
Step 3: Using Sigma Tapering E40 brush, dab into MAC Studio Finish Concealer NC30.
Step 4: Apply onto problem areas
- around the nose
- dark spots on the cheeks
- use remaining under the eyes
Step 5: Blend
Step 6: Set concealer using Sigma Large Powder F30 brush to apply Lancôme Dual Finish Powder in Matte Honey(III).

Favorite Lashes

(Salon Perfect Demi Wispies 4 Pair -- WalMart $9)

I have been wearing lashes for YEARS! Maybe since I was 16 when I first started getting into make-up and anyone who knows me KNOWS I hoard lashes. But my all-time favorite are the "Demi-Wispies." (ARDELL/SALON PERFECT -- same thing) They're inexpensive and come in 4pairs/pack as well as single pairs. I used to order boxes of lashes from Taiwan or China for dirt cheap, but I never seem to be fully satisfied and they take FOREVER to ship. I love these because the strip is super flexible and goes on INVISIBLE. I usually apply them at the end of my routine after I curl & mascara with clear DUO glue. I love them because they make my lashes look naturally full without looking so fake and drag queeny. I can probably squeeze 2-3 weeks wear from a single pair if I take care of them properly so these boxes last quite awhile.

Frozen in Time

Today, my mom and I shoveled the snow together. She admired how the white powdery flakes fell slowly onto the tree branches. She commented on how it hadn't snowed like this in awhile. No breeze. Complete stillness. The world seems to hold still for the briefest of seconds. Frozen in time. My mom was like a child - bewildered by the beauty of it all. I smiled as I glimpsed at her rosy cheeks filled with joy.

We are always so absorbed in our own lives that we complain about the slightest inconveniences. Start to realize that at some point in life, the world’s beauty becomes enough.
